This cake was made for a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary. The husband had asked me to replicate their original wedding cake to surprise his wife. After speaking with his wife, and reviewing some pictures of the original cake (without making it obvious that I would be making a cake for her), I found out that she did not like her original wedding cake. I asked her to tell me what she would have liked her cake to look like. She described a simple cake with red roses and a few petals strategically placed on the cake. It was so fun to deliver this cake and see the smile on her face!

Quilt Block (Churn Dash)
This quilt block (churn dash) cake was made for a group of quilting friends who were going on a quilting getaway! It was a surprise for one of the ladies who was celebrating her birthday! I was asked to make the cake resemble the fabric swatch that is next to the cake. The fondant is hand painted with edible airbrush paints.
